Hanoi, Aug. 25 -- The 2025 Amnesty Advisory Council met on August 25 to review and endorse the list of inmates recommended for early release by the State President on the occasion of the 80th National Day (September 2, 1945-2025). Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh, Chair of the council, said that in line with the Party and State's policy, two rounds of amnesties are scheduled in 2025. The first marked the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification earlier this year, while the second coincides with the 80th National Day.
