HCM City, July 18 -- Ho Chi Minh City is speeding up its shift to green public transportation, aiming to make buses run on electricity or other forms of green energy by 2030, said Ngo Hai Duong, Head of Road Transport Management under the municipal Department of Construction.

Speaking at a press briefing on the city's socio-economic situation held on July 17, he said that this shift forms a key part of Phase 1 of the city's vehicle emissions control project, carried out under the National Assembly's Resolution No. 98/2023/QH15 on pilot special mechanisms and policies for HCM City's development.
