New Delhi, Aug. 19 -- Healthcare-focused venture capital firm W Health Ventures, which rolled out its second flagship fund last month targeting to raise $100 million (around Rs 870 crore), has added four industry leaders to its team as it doubles down on healthcare opportunities.

The new leaders will support the VC firm in creation through research and validation, and play active roles as board members and co-builders in launching and scaling new ventures, a company statement said.

It has appointed Ashish Singh, Dr. Prakash Patel, and Ajay Sondhi as Operating Partners, the VC firm said in a statement. Further, Mahadevan "Mahad" Narayanamoni joins as Investment Committee member and advisor.

"Together, they bring deep strategic, healthcare, and financial operating expertise to W Health's unique 'company creation' model," W Health said in the statement.

The Boston-based W Health Ventures provides seed and early-stage capital to healthcare and related companies operating in United States and India.

On the latest leadership appointments, Pankaj Jethwani, Managing Partner at W Health Ventures said, "Their deep experience strengthens our industry insight, broadens our network, and enhances our operating and boardroom capabilities. Together, they'll help us validate stronger ideas, support founders more effectively, and scale impactful ventures across India and the US".

Singh, who brings over 35 years of experience, was formerly the global head of Bain & Company's healthcare practice. With a strong track record of mentoring VC- and PE-backed healthcare ventures across the US-India corridor, he has also served on boards of multiple healthcare organizations Lyndra Therapeutics, a clinical-stage biopharma company; Brillio, a digital engineering services firm; and Careforce, an asset-light management services organisation (MSO) among others.

Patel, who comes with over 25 years of C-suite experience, was previously the executive vice president and president for health insurance provider Anthem Inc.'s Diversified Business Group. He previously served as chief operating officer at GuideWell, a $16-billion diversified health solutions company.

Sondhi has held senior leadership roles with Goldman Sachs, Citibank, UBS, and Kotak Mahindra in Singapore and India in his four decades of experience in global investment banking and governance. He serves on the boards of Maxx Orthopedics Inc., Maxx Medical, and Noora Health.

Narayanamoni, who brings over 25 years of experience, has worked at the intersection of private equity and healthcare operations. He is a senior advisor to TPG Growth and co-founder of Aknamed, a pharma supply chain platform that was acquired by PharmEasy.
