SRINAGAR, Jan. 4 -- A woman lost her life due to suffocation caused by a gas leakage incident in Srinagar on Sunday, officials said.

A police officer confirmed to KNC that, The deceased has been identified as Saima Rajab, resident of Naid Khai Sonawari, presently residing at Sir Syed Abad, Bemina.

He said that, the woman died after inhaling gas following a leakage at her residence. She reportedly fell unconscious and later succumbed due to suffocation.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident and further proceedings are underway.
