, March 14 -- SRINAGAR: In two years Jammu and Kashmir has exported 508.29 thousand metric tonnes (MTs) of fruits, generating a revenue of Rs 2,806.22 crore.
According to the data of the Agriculture Production Department (Horticulture), accessed by KNO, Baramulla district emerged as the largest contributor, with 'Sopore Mandi' alone exporting 184.52 thousand MTs of fruits, accounting for Rs 992 crore. Another 'Kanispora Mandi' in Baramulla district exported 0.96 thousand MTs, with a turnover of Rs 3.51 crore.
Shopian followed as the second-largest exporter, shipping 125.73 thousand MTs of fruits through 'Aglar Mandi,' generating a revenue of Rs 657.53 crore.
