, April 10 -- KANGAN: A serious health hazard has emerged in the Poshkar area of Kangan in Ganderbal District where a public water tank-meant to supply drinking water to the residents of Phema Mohalla-has reportedly been found contaminated.

According to local residents, the entire population of the area relies on this single tank for their daily water needs.

Residents allege that despite repeated complaints to the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department, no steps have been taken to secure the tank with proper fencing or cover.

"We have informed PHE officials many times to install fencing around the tank, but they have done nothing so far," said a local resident.
