, Jan. 29 -- GANDERBAL: In a recent large-scale sampling and testing drive, the Jai Shakti (PHE) Rural Water Supply Division Ganderbal/Srinagar found that 37 out of 40 springs tested across Ganderbal district are bacteriologically contaminated, rendering them unsafe for human consumption.
Authorities have issued a public advisory urging residents of District Ganderbal and Rural Srinagar to avoid consuming spring water and instead rely on tap water until further notice. In cases where spring water must be used, officials recommend boiling it for a prolonged period to minimize health risks.
