Uzbekistan studies experience of nuclear power plant construction in Republic of Korea
Tashkent, Oct. 28 -- First Deputy Minister of Energy - General Director of Uzatom Agency Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov held talks with representatives of South Korean companies Korea Electric Power Corporation, Korea Hydro&Nuclear Power, Hyundai Engineering and Construction, Doosan Heavy Energy, Korean Nuclear Association. The Uzbek delegation also visited one of the world's largest operating nuclear power plants - Kori Nuclear Power Plant with a capacity of 7743 MW (8 reactors in the first and second phases).
The first reactor at the Kori nuclear power plant with a capacity of 607 MW was put into operation in 1977 and was suspended exactly after 40 years of successful operation, having generated a total of 148.6 billion kWh of electric energy....
