Tashkent, June 26 -- Uzbekistan's foreign trade during the first five months of 2021 expanded to $14.6bn, up by $1.7bn or 13.2% y/y.

Exports of goods increased by 45.9%, gold exports dipped 27.2%.

The export of services amounted to $5.7bn.

In the reporting period, the country imported $8.8bn worth of goods, up by $1bn y/y.

The negative trade balance made up $3.1bn.

The largest volume of foreign trade turnover was recorded with China (18.4 %), the Russian Federation (16.5%), Kazakhstan (10.5%), Turkey (8.9%), the Republic of Korea (4.5%), Kyrgyzstan (2.3%) and Afghanistan (2.0%).

The share of foreign trade turnover with CIS countries expanded by 1.2%, with their share in total trade turnover amounting to 36.1 %.
