Tashkent, Jan. 17 -- Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover increased by 26.2% in 2019 compared to 2018 and amounted to $42.2 billion, according to the Ministry of Investment and Foreign trade.

"The foreign trade turnover of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2019 amounted to $42.2 billion, having soared by $8.7 billion compared to the same period last year (an increase of 26.2%)," the report says.

The volume of exports

According to the Ministry, the volume of exports from Uzbekistan increased by 28% last year, to $17.9 billion, and imports - to $24.3 billion (+25%). Accordingly, the negative balance of foreign trade amounted to $6.4 billion - against a negative figure of $5.3 billion a year earlier.
