Tashkent, March 14 -- Apart from Uzbekistan, the Philippines, Iran, Costa Rica, and Indonesia have the same level of indicators.

The top 5 countries with the largest volume of subsidence include Indonesia, China, Iran, India and Pakistan.

In total, worldwide about 6.3 million square kilometers are subjected to subsidence at a rate of more than 5 millimeters per year (about 5% of the world's total land area). This affects 231,000 square kilometers of urban and densely populated areas, affecting approximately 2 billion people.

South Asia has the highest degree of subsidence in the world, with 2.2% of its total land area subject to subsidence of more than 50 mm per year.
