Tashkent, Feb. 29 -- Uzbekistan proposed to declare 2027 as the "International Year of Sustainable and Resilient Tourism". Over 80 member countries supported the resolution with experts from various nations, including Russia, China, the US, Turkey, Germany and others. The resolution, based on President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's remarks at a UNWTO session in 2023, highlights the role of tourism in preserving cultural heritage, promoting peace, and respecting diverse values.
