Tashkent, Jan. 26 -- Uzbek MPs have proposed to postpone the election day in Uzbekistan to the first Sunday of the third decade of October. A relevant draft, which amends the Constitution, was discussed by the factions of political parties on Monday.

According to Article 117 of the Constitution, the elections of the President, the Legislative Chamber and the Jokargy Kenes of Karakalpakstan, as well as the representative bodies of state power of regions, districts and cities are held in the year of the expiration of the constitutional term of their powers - on the first Sunday of the third decade of December.

The draft is yet to be discussed at a session of the Legislative Chamber, and approved by the Senate and signed by the President. ...
