Tashkent, Feb. 25 -- In Uzbekistan, the monopoly in supplying natural gas and liquefied gas to consumers will be abolished. The private sector will be involved, aligning with the "Uzbekistan-2030" strategy for sustainable economic growth.

By April 2024, a procedure for transferring gas distribution networks to private ownership will be developed and approved. Pilot regions for this transfer will be identified, and negotiations with potential companies will determine specific conditions for the handover.
