Uzbekistan, Feb. 18 -- The Cabinet of Ministers approved new regulations on licensing activities in the electricity sector. A license will not be required for power generation at small plants with a capacity of up to 5 MW.
The regulation mandates licensing for activities such as electricity generation, transmission, distribution, storage, supply, and market operation, with each requiring a separate license. The Energy Market Development and Regulation Agency, established as part of the 2023 energy sector reforms, will oversee licensing.
