Uzbekistan, March 17 -- In Uzbekistan, fishing in natural water bodies is temporarily banned to protect fish populations during the spawning season. The restrictions are enforced under the Law "On Hunting and Hunting Management" and the government resolution on fishing regulations.

From March 11 to May 31, fishing is prohibited in the Amu Darya and Syr Darya rivers. From April 26 to June 10, the ban applies to natural water bodies in the Republic of Karakalpakstan and Khorezm region. In all other natural water bodies, fishing is restricted from April 16 to May 31.
