Uzbekistan, Feb. 20 -- May 9 - the Day of Remembrance and Honor - is celebrated as a national holiday to honor those who died in World War II. It also recognizes veterans who continue to contribute to the country's development and youth education. In commemoration of the 80th anniversary of Victory, financial support will be provided to war veterans, and labor front participants from 1941-1945.

A one-time monetary reward is established as follows:

- Each World War II participant and disabled veteran will receive $10,000 (ten thousand U.S. dollars).

- Each person equated to a World War II participant will receive 25,000,000 (twenty-five million) soums.
