Tashkent, March 3 -- Between 2024 and 2026, Uzbekistan plans to increase the number of stations recording strong earthquakes to 200 as part of the "Uzbekistan - 2030" strategy. The aim is to enhance the national early warning system for earthquakes by integrating it with the global system of seismic observations.

In June 2024, seismic stations from neighboring republics will join Uzbekistan's network, and by August of the same year, real-time exchange of seismic data with these neighboring countries will begin. These efforts will be funded by the Fund for the Support of Seismology, Seismic Strength of Structures, and Seismic Safety.
