Tashkent, April 6 -- Uzbekistan and the European Union have signed a memorandum of understanding on the development of sustainable value chains in critical raw materials. This is expected to help Uzbekistan develop its extractive industry, and for the EU it will provide access to fossil fuels such as copper and molybdenum.

Uzbekistan and the European Union have signed a memorandum of understanding to launch a strategic partnership to develop sustainable value chains in the field of critical raw materials. The memorandum was signed by Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan, Laziz Kudratov and Executive Vice President of the European Commission, Valdis Dombrovskis, in Belgium.
