Tashkent, March 13 -- Uzbekistan has entered the top 5 countries with the highest average level of land subsidence out of 195 countries. This is stated in a study in the journal Geophysical Research Letters.

Apart from Uzbekistan, the Philippines, Iran, Costa Rica, and Indonesia have the same level of indicators. The average value of land subsidence on the territory of these countries is not specified.

At the same time, experts note that the top 5 countries with the largest amount of subsidence (more than 5 millimetres per year) include Indonesia, China, Iran, India, and Pakistan.
