Tashkent, Sept. 24 -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev addressed the 75th session of the UN General Assembly on Wednesday.

According to Mirziyoyev, another burning issue of today is global climate change. Today, every country feels the devastating impact of this process. Unfortunately, these negative changes also pose a serious threat to the sustainable development of Central Asia.

Mirziyoyev drew attention to the devastating consequences of the drying up of the Aral sea. Once a huge sea to date has become the epicentre of an environmental disaster. In order to improve the current situation, work is currently underway to create a new landscape, woodlands and soil cover on an area of 2 million hectares.
