Tashkent, Oct. 15 -- The 2019 Nobel Prize in Economics has been awarded to economists Abhijita Banerjee, Esther Duflo and Michael Kremer for creating an experimental approach to reducing global poverty, the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences said on Monday.

"This year's honorees have introduced a new approach to getting reliable answers about the best ways to combat global poverty," the Academy said in a statement.
