Exports in Uzbekistan increase by 13.6%, China remaining top trading partner
Tashkent, March 25 -- Uzbekistan's foreign trade increased by 13.6%. Imports, however, grew by 8.7%, reflecting the country's rising need for foreign commodities and resources. Gold makes up the majority of exports, while engineering products make up the majority of imports.
During this period, the trade deficit slightly widened, reaching $2.65 billion. Gold exports played a crucial role in boosting Uzbekistan's trade numbers. In the last month alone, gold exports made up $1.31 billion. In the same period of the previous year, gold exports stood at $1.18 billion.
