Uzbekistan, Feb. 20 -- A special inspection of 762 facilities in Tashkent city and region revealed widespread environmental violations. Several industrial sites and greenhouses were found releasing excessive smoke and pollutants into the air.

The inspections revealed that some of the 103 greenhouses, 450 social sector facilities, and 209 industrial enterprises were releasing excessive smoke, dust, and gas beyond the allowed limits. Findings revealed that 70 greenhouses were using non-standard boilers, and 83 were operating without state environmental approvals. Additionally, 24 lacked dust and gas filtration systems.
