Tashkent, Feb. 22 -- Uzbekistan for the first time in three years did not sell a single gram of gold in January, according to the state statistics committee.

The country started the previous two years with an active sale of precious metal. There were periods when the sale of gold accounted for 50% of all exports and more.

The main exported goods this year were industrial goods (35.7%), food products (11%) and chemicals (8.9%).

Foreign trade has dipped by $657.6mn, or 22.2%, to $2.3bn.

The country's main trading partners are still China ($484.2mn) and Russia ($429.7mn).
