Tashkent, Dec. 6 -- On December 4, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Said Rustamov presented his credentials to Queen Elizabeth II.

During the conversation held after the official ceremony at Buckingham Palace, the historical ties between the peoples of the two countries, which date back to the period of diplomatic correspondence between King Henry IV of England and Amir Temur at the beginning of the XV century were noted.

The Queen of Great Britain showed awareness of the cultural and historical heritage of Uzbekistan, especially the ancient architecture of Samarkand.
