Tashkent, June 11 -- STEM education in Uzbekistan is about to receive a $100mn fund from The Asian Development Bank. The signed memorandum between the bank and The Ministry of National Education applies for grades 7-11.

"The projects will support and improve existing standards of curricula and textbooks in STEM subjects, as well as ensure training and retraining of teaching staff, purchase of necessary equipment for schools, reconstruction of school buildings and development of educational technologies," the official statement says.

This initiative is part of the country's efforts to reform the education system by 2030.
