At a hearing of the Senate Armed Services Committee, U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) pressed Mr. Charles L. Young III, Principal Deputy General Counsel and pending nominee to be Army General Counsel, on the deployment of the National Guard and reports that senior Judge Advocate General (JAG) officers have been sidelined after raising legal concerns about military operations. Senator Warren also offered her condolences to the family of Specialist Sarah Beckstrom and extended her thoughts to Staff Sergeant Andrew Wolfe, victims of a tragic shooting while deployed in D.C.
