US Patent Issued to ZOLL Medical on May 20 for "Water resistant wearable medical device" (Pennsylvania Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,303,705, issued on May 20, was assigned to ZOLL Medical Corp. (Chelmsford, Mass.).

"Water resistant wearable medical device" was invented by Thomas E Kaib (Irwin, Pa.), Shane S Volpe (Saltsburg, Pa.) and John G Clark (Pittsburgh).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A wearable medical device configured to monitor a patient for cardiac arrhythmias includes a water-resistant belt, ECG sensing electrodes, and therapy electrodes discrete from the ECG sensing electrodes. At least some of the ECG sensing electrodes and therapy electrodes are disposed on one or more common adhesive backings configured to be adhesively attached to the patient's torso. ...
