ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 30 -- United States Patent no. PP36,869, issued on July 29, was assigned to Zhongshan Brighten Floriculture LTD.

"Spathiphyllum plant named 'QUEENIE'" was invented by Peifeng Li (Zhongshan, China).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A new and distinct cultivar of Spathiphyllum plant named 'QUEENIE' is disclosed, characterized by shiny dark green foliage, moderately wavy leaves, abundant flowers, and robust flower stalks. The new variety is a Spathiphyllum, typically produced as an indoor ornamental plant."
