ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,370,972, issued on July 29, was assigned to ZF PASSIVE SAFETY SYSTEMS US INC. (Washington, Mich.).

"Knee airbag" was invented by Joseph Palazzolo (Shelby Township, Mich.), Jaime Fermin Perez (Lake Orion, Mich.) and Douglas Gould (Lake Orion, Mich.).
