US Patent Issued to ZF ACTIVE SAFETY US on Nov. 4 for "Rotor condition monitoring system and method" (Michigan Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,459,482, issued on Nov. 4, was assigned to ZF ACTIVE SAFETY US INC. (Livonia, Mich.).

"Rotor condition monitoring system and method" was invented by Galus Chelaidite (South Lyon, Mich.) and Cusi Diego (Northville, Mich.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method of monitoring a rotor of a motor vehicle having a caliper assembly driven by a motor for braking the vehicle includes detecting at least one harmonic response during a braking operation indicative of the interaction between the caliper assembly and the rotor.
