ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 11 -- United States Patent no. 12,466,798, issued on Nov. 11, was assigned to YEDA RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT Co. LTD. (Rehovot, Israel).

"Process for the preparation of fluensulfone" was invented by Ronny Neumann (Kfar Saba, Israel) and Alexander Khenkin (Rehovot, Israel).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "This invention is directed to a method of oxidation of 5-chloro-2-((3,4,4-trifluorobut-3-en-1-yl)thio)-1Lambda3,3Lambda2-thiazole and analogs thereof to the corresponding sulfone, using an oxidant and a metal oxide-based catalyst."
