ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 20 -- United States Patent no. 12,392,042, issued on Aug. 19, was assigned to Yeda Research and Development Co. Ltd. (Rehovot, Israel).

"Alternating current (AC) transition-metal catalysis" was invented by Sergey N. Semenov (Rehovot, Israel) and Evgenii Bortnikov (Rehovot, Israel).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "This invention provides a catalytic process wherein alternating current is used for catalytic coupling (such as C-C, C-N, C-O, C-S, C-P, C-Si and/or C-B couplings) using a transition-metal catalysis."

The patent was filed on Sept. 14, 2021, under Application No. 18/043,339.
