ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 4 -- United States Patent no. 12,320,815, issued on June 3, was assigned to Yale University (New Haven, Conn.).

"Compositions and methods for enrichment and detection of ubiquitin and ubiquitin conjugates" was invented by Mengwen Zhang (New Haven, Conn.), Jason Berk (Hamden, Conn.) and Mark Hochstrasser (Hamden, Conn.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Described herein are compositions and methods for detecting the presence of ubiquitination in a sample. The compositions include synthetic peptides containing a high affinity ubiquitin binding domain and an additional peptide sequence that can be coupled to materials such as resins and dyes."
