ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,352,643, issued on July 8, was assigned to Xerox Corp. (Norwalk, Conn.).

"Traffic monitoring using optical sensors" was invented by Jin Yan (Palo Alto, Calif.), Qiushu Chen (San Jose, Calif.), Ajay Raghavan (Mountain View, Calif.), Peter Kiesel (Palo Alto, Calif.) and Jingxiao Liu (Palo Alto, Calif.).
