ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 20 -- United States Patent no. 12,391,464, issued on Aug. 19, was assigned to Wright Metal Products Crates LLC (Rome, Ga.).
"Convertible, collapsible and reusable shipping crate" was invented by Michael Widick (Oxford, Ala.), Clyde Edwards (Anniston, Ala.) and David Owens (Rome, Ga.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention generally relates to a convertible, collapsible and reusable shipping crate. The crate is convertible in that the same base can used with extendable gates or fixed gates to ship equipment of differing heights, lengths, and wheel bases.
