ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,426,908, issued on Sept. 30, was assigned to WRIGHT MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY INC. (Memphis, Tenn.).

"Preferential removal of cartilage" was invented by Zachary Korman (Memphis, Tenn.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Disclosed is a method for preferentially removing cartilage from a bone in a joint that is effective at removing the cartilage while minimizing any removal of the cortical bone."

The patent was filed on Aug. 4, 2021, under Application No. 18/041,556.
