ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 25 -- United States Patent no. 12,336,913, issued on June 24, was assigned to WRIGHT MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY INC. (Memphis, Tenn.).

"Calcaneal prosthesis" was invented by Kian-Ming Wong (Lakeland, Tenn.) and Chris Robinson (Hernando, Miss.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A calcaneal prosthesis system includes a body having a dorsal surface, a plantar surface, an anterior surface, and a posterior end. The posterior end has a tuberosity. The anterior surface has at least a concavity or convexity shaped for receiving a cuboid bone or mid-foot bone.
