"Stable cushioning footwear construction" was invented by Dewayne Dale (Howard City, Mich.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A footwear construction is provided with a sole assembly having underfoot cushion elements disposed through a support frame to yield enhanced stability for the sole assembly.
