ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 31 -- United States Patent no. 12,513,076, issued on Dec. 30, was assigned to WISYS TECHNOLOGY FOUNDATION INC. (Madison, Wis.).

"Delay sensitive network estimation system" was invented by Xiaoguang Ma (Platteville, Wis.) and Huan Yang (Guangdong, China).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A network traffic management system prepares a map showing network delays updated through the transmission of regularly time-stamped messages. This map is then employed to prioritize packets, address quality of service requirements, or drop expired/expiring packets."

The patent was filed on Aug. 12, 2022, under Application No. 17/887,286.
