ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,491,202, issued on Dec. 9, was assigned to Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation (Madison, Wis.).

"Phospholipid ether analogs for imaging and targeted treatment of pediatric solid tumors" was invented by Mario Otto (Fitchburg, Wis.), Dana C. Baiu (Madison, Wis.), Bryan P. Bednarz (Madison, Wis.) and Jamey Paul Weichert (Sun Prairie, Wis.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "It is disclosed herein that that certain alkylphosphocholine analogs are preferentially taken up by malignant pediatric tumor cells. The alkylphophocholine analogs are compounds having the formula:or salts thereof, wherein n is an integer from 12 to 24; and R2 is -N+(CH3)3. T...
