ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 5 -- United States Patent no. 12,242,230, issued on March 4, was assigned to WINWATCH IP LTD. (Zug, Switzerland).

"Watch glass containing a near-field communication (NFC) module and method of producing such a glass" was invented by Alex Kalbermatten (Sion, Switzerland).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A watch glass (1) has a near field communication (NFC) module (3) which includes at least one microcircuit (3.2) connected to an antenna (3.1).
