ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,279,852, issued on April 22, was assigned to Whoop Inc. (Boston).
"Determining heart rate with reflected light data" was invented by William Ahmed (Boston), John Vincenzo Capodilupo (Boston) and Aurelian Nicolae (Brookline, Mass.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A physiological monitor switches between a time domain analysis and a frequency domain analysis for determining a heart rate based on objective indicia of signal quality in an acquired heart rate signal."
The patent was filed on Feb. 7, 2023, under Application No. 18/106,668.
