ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,283,293, issued on April 22, was assigned to Western Digital Technologies Inc. (San Jose, Calif.).

"Measuring laser diode temperature and predicting mode hops using laser diode resistance" was invented by Sukumar Rajauria (San Jose, Calif.), Erhard Schreck (San Jose, Calif.) and Dongying Li (San Jose, Calif.).
