ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,311,597, issued on May 27, was assigned to Wayne State University (Detroit).

"Additive manufacturing system and unified additive-deformation-machining (ADM) process of manufacturing" was invented by Xin Wu (Canton, Mich.), Qingyu Yang (Canton, Mich.) and Ahmed Nabil Elalem (Dearborn Heights, Mich.).
