ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 4 -- United States Patent no. 12,320,788, issued on June 3, was assigned to Waters Technologies Corp. (Milford, Mass.).

"Conical columns and low dispersion frits" was invented by Fabrice Gritti (Franklin, Mass.), Jonathan Belanger (Whitinsville, Mass.) and Daniel Marc Lemire Jr. (Uxbridge, Mass.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Disclosed herein are chromatography columns with conical or reducing inside dimensions and improved fits for use therewith, along with methods for making the columns and the frits."

The patent was filed on Oct. 19, 2021, under Application No. 17/504,649.
