US Patent Issued to Washington University on Nov. 11 for "Ultrasound sensing and imaging based on whispering-gallery-mode (WGM) microresonators" (Missouri Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 11 -- United States Patent no. 12,468,090, issued on Nov. 11, was assigned to Washington University (St. Louis).

"Ultrasound sensing and imaging based on whispering-gallery-mode (WGM) microresonators" was invented by Lan Yang (St. Louis), Guangming Zhao (St. Louis), Xuefeng Jiang (St. Louis) and Yihang Li (St. Louis).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Optical whispering gallery mode (WGM) resonator-based acoustic sensors, imaging systems that make use of the acoustic sensors, and methods of detecting ultrasound waves using the acoustic sensors are disclosed."
