ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,414,802, issued on Sept. 16, was assigned to WARSAW ORTHOPEDIC Inc. (Warsaw, Ind.).
"Surgical instrument and method" was invented by William Alan Rezach (Covington, Tenn.) and Brian A. Butler (Millington, Tenn.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A surgical instrument includes a first member being engageable to an inner surface of a spinal implant. An actuator is connected to a second member such that the second member is translatable relative to the first member for connecting the spinal implant to a bone fixation device. Systems, spinal constructs, implants and methods are disclosed."
