According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A unique cultivar of Tall Phlox plant named 'Pink Lightning' is characterized by vigorous, dense, upright, highly branched peduncles, with dark-green, lanceolate leaves. Flowering begins in mid-July and continues for up to about six weeks in cooler weather conditions, on heavily-branched peduncles, and completely covers the top of the plant in peak season.
